Master’s in Ecology and Environmental Sciences

Having spent several summers in the heart of western ghats, forests and birds have always fascinated me. It is this interest that made me take up Master’s in Ecology and Environmental Sciences. I worked on the nesting ecology of the forest owlet for my Master’s dissertation. Post that, I went on to be a part of a socio-ecological study in the western ghats with BRT Tiger reserve and Coorg as my field sites. Later, I was involved with a project at the Indian Institute of Science that studies avian malaria in western Himalaya. I enjoyed field work in the Himalaya and learnt bird handling during my time there. My interest lies in the field and avian biology, and conservation. I like travelling and enjoy learning about the local way of life during field work.
